En de Heere God had den mens geformeerd uit het stof der aarde , en in zijn neusgaten geblazen den adem des levens ; alzo werd de mens tot een levende ziel .

וּבְרָא יְיָ אֱלֹהִים יָת אָדָם עַפְרָא מִן אַדְמְתָא וּנְפַח בְּאַפּוֹהִי נִשְׁמְתָא דְחַיֵּי וַהֲוַת בְּאָדָם לְרוּחַ מְמַלְלָא

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Formavit igitur Dominus Deus hominem de limo terræ, et inspiravit in faciem ejus spiraculum vitæ, et factus est homo in animam viventem.

Und GOtt der HErr machte den Menschen aus einem Erdenkloß, und er blies ihm ein den lebendigen Odem in seine Nase. Und also ward der Mensch eine lebendige Seele.

Then Yahweh God formed the man out of dust from the ground, and he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Then Yahweh who is God took some dirt from the earth and formed the first man out of it. Then he blew his breath into the man’s nostrils to make him live, so that the man became alive.
